day one

after many hours the gang is finally fully assembled. My plan to not sleep has certainly helped me overcome the jetlag so many of our compatriots are dealing with.
The ocean is just cacophonous, contstantly crashing, and when coupled with the wind, it really makes you feel like you are on the edge of the world.
But the birds and local animals don't seem to mind.

I will do my best to get better picutes of the house tomorrow, i wasn't paying attention and all of my pics from today came out blurry, lets just say this place is amazing, and i have never seen more light switches in my life, well except for at a theater, but that doesn't count.
i think this picture of my father sums up day one, regardless of the confusion over who stays in what room and how tired some people are.

until tomorrow, have wonderful evenings, though by now it is about morning where you are.

Hi Justin,
Great to hear from you from Hawaii! Just curious, what do they call their transportation system, if they have one like the T here? And do you hear any sounds at night from local animals, like birds, frogs, etc? Have fun! Maribel

Hey Justin-
You are right - that photo of your dad says it all!! I hope you bring that relaxation and contentment back here:)
Thanks for setting up this blog! I'm on bed rest for a while and will enjoy seeing Hawaii through your eyes. (By the way - we splurged on Farscape 4, but I can't watch it during the day - gotta wait for Scott)
Am my little bro would say back in the day ..."hang loose dude"

Maribel - the transportation system is, well, the bus. Nothing fun, no singular letter like our T or Chicago's L. just the bus. Or in my case, the housemates who rented cars. :) Dad saw a ne Shelby gt500 at hertz and we are trying to get it for a day to tool around in, no luck so far, but we'll see as the week progresses.
Bobbie, glad to hear from you. get well, feel well, enjoy season 4, it has the best episodes in the whole series, but is not a cohesive as season 3 (which is why i rate 3 a little bit more) but once it gets going you are on a great ride... and then soon enough we can have a little Peacekeeper Wars Pizza and Margeritta Shooters party :)
